Notice of Race
The Nevada Yacht Club (NYC) will be holding its Ron Darling Long Distance Memorial 2017 Race. The race will consist of a Saturday and Sunday on the lower and upper basins of Lake Mead. The race schedule will be as follows:
Saturday, Sept 9th
Competitors meetings will be held on the patio of Lake Mead Marina.
NYC’s Ron Darling Long Distance Memorial Race will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016 (RRS), the prescriptions of US Sailing, the rules of PHRF, and the Sailing Instructions (SI).
Each vessel competing in the Ron Darling Long Distance Memorial Regatta shall be equipped with a marine VHF radio capable of communication on VHF channel 72. Handheld radios are permitted to satisfy this requirement but each skipper is responsible for receiving and acknowledging race course information from the Race Officer. Running Lights must be operable as this race will be through the night.
Eligibility and Classes
The races are open to all competitors with boats meeting the requirements of the Southern California PHRF by-laws. There is one fleet based on PHRF rating.
Entry forms will be emailed out prior to the race or will be available on the dock at Lake Mead Marina before Competitors meeting on the day of the race. Registration is closed after Competitors meeting on the day of the race.

No motoring may be used. You may start your motor (to charge batteries). You may not engage your prop.
